26/7/12 Today 6a got split so we did not get to do much at school. We did not get much to research so today was completely occupied on other necessary things.Catchment headquarters had posted the 10 possible crime sites. They haven't posted the villains or the victims but I am certain they will .We did not gain anything today so tomorrow is going to be full time catch up!
31/7/12 BIG clues today. They have pushed us A LOT. Catchment HQ posted the possible villains for the tantilizing towers case, which are blue mountains panther, electronic disturbances, land clearing and pesticide .So far, for the mini case ,the evidence is directing us up to pesticide, but we are uncertain. We need to wait for more clues.
2/8/12 Today,6A watched a video about the tantalizing towers.I learnt that this experiment ,which cost a fortune,is actually trying to find out how much carbon is stored in trees and how efficiently we can stop carbon from being produced or going into the atmosphere. One possible villain for the genuine investigation, has been posted. We noticed a tree that did not look native.I researched it and it is called Pandanus and is claimed to be native to Endeavour river, but,I don't think it is relevant information.
7/8/12 Today was the day the olympathon took place.I knew that it was going to last the whole day. The olympathon did not really amuse me in any way so all of my day was monotonous and very repetitive.Any ways, we did not get to look at murder under the microscope except some videos.I really believe that the olympathon was a waste of research time.
21/8/12 Today we got a whole bunch of clues that co-related to our possible victim, the Cane Toad. But there was one clue that stood out and that was the one that suggested that Lawrence was responsible for some importations of a illegal flora from a sack of seeds. At first we thought it was just another decoy but I think it might have some 'hidden' meaning to this impossible mystery. It's just a hunch.
When Murder Under the Microscope was finished,I had a strong feel of relief. All of the hard work meant to me that we were sure to get the correct submission. When the accusation was being posted,my heart was in my mouth.I asked those who did not go to the author visit, what answers they had posted.Curiously,I also asked them if any clues came in.When I checked,my face raged with a hot red.The class and I picked the wrong villain!
The final and genuine conclusion was posted at noon.My body was feeling mixed emotions.6a got two thirds of the original question and the other one third was wrong.I had some chance of being happy but the villain being wrong just brought the rain cloud over me.
There was one question that kept on being reiterated in my mind.Am I to be blamed for this catastrophe? Is the teacher supposed to be the guilty party?I had a few minutes to contemplate.Pulling myself together,I recalled that being a team means nobody is to go through something alone. So it was everyone, including me,who took the fall.
Even though we didn't get the correct answer,we enjoyed participating in it.6a learnt massive amounts of education and more about the horrible crimes that can be acted about.Personally,I learnt that it is the journey that counts, not the destination.

27/7/12Zilch research, again!! Today was one of those days when we focus on something else other than Murder under the microscope.AGAIN,today we did NO research. There was not much to do because Mrs Anderson was not there to guide us and we were not allowed on the computers for the day.Even though Murder Under the Microscope has only just begun ,I feel that we have a lot of catching up to do!
30/7/12 We received some clues that helped in the case of the tantalising towers. So far I think the crime site is Embley river because ALL the clues lead up to it but I feel like I need to do more research about it.Hopefully tomorrow is better and brings better clues.
1/8/12 Dr AJ finally told us what the tantalizing towers actually were. They are carbon experiments and measure how much carbon is absorbed by plants and how the plants and trees function.I thought that was PHENOMENAL.What would humans do without technology?Another lead was that the snail ,Meridolum corneovirens, does not eat greenery but fungi and that's why gardeners love them.6A also found out that tea was infected by DDT which is a substance that does NOT break down so after a long time, it is still poisonous .
3/8/12 Today we were assigned a different topic,Mangroves and wetlands. My group,Sidney and Damien, were asked to do further research on these topics.Catchment HQ posted a possible contender for the wildlife trading. The investigation is coming underway and forming.
6/8/12 Finally! The crime sites have been posted. We also got the link to Dannos blog and Danno said that he was going to update it daily.I think his clues will be really beneficial ,but, it is just a hunch. One thing I had some real trouble with today was a hint that Danno posted to us.I do not really understand what it was intended to tell us but I think we can solve this mystery without it.I am hoping tomorrow is way better.
8/8/12 I was lucky because I discovered the Pandanus tree because it helped us a lot today.A Pandanus station was located at the crime site.We also got a clue that portrayed to us that there were pink diamonds at the crime site.It was a major hint and guided us more to Kununurra than Cooktown.I am starting to feel more confident for Kununurra.I am really glad that we actually went this way.Otherwise we would get completely lost.We also got a hint depicting 6 colours.Dr AJ said that it would help us solve who victim is.
I think the final contenders for the victim are Sugar Glider Bilby and Northern Quoll
12/8/12 No clues. There is nothing to research. What I am feeling is that this investigation is like a seesaw. One minute I am up and excited whereas at other times I am down, not having much fun or interest at all.I still make sure that I give 100% of my potential throughout it and sustain it.
17/8/12 As usual we got into the classroom and looked at M.U.M.We did our learning in the classroom and we did not go to the library. We received the temperature statistics of the crime sites but 6a did not grow upon that.It was Fizzahs birthday and she brought the worlds most delicious cupcakes. We didn't get to do much because we had to practice our assembly item and it was sports day. Most of our day was occupied.
20/8/12 The clue that was sent today gave us major assistance. We can definitely now say that the the crimesite is Kununurra. The victim is the Northern Quoll. But we are still unsure if the BUFO MARINUS is the villain.

23/8/12 The day to post the accusation is finally here!I hope we get the accusation right because I do not want a replay of what happened last year. My stomach was tingling with excitement when we turned on the computer. It was nearly the end of murder under the microscope and we have got our victim and crime site but we not certain about the villain.Today we decided ,first, what the most likely villain was.Majority think that it is cane toad but I think it might be rising temperatures or Gamba grass. The fact that in one of the videos Nina Barzani hinted that the villain was a flora, that straight away eliminated the cane toad and rising temperatures. Some clues divert to Cane toad but those clues can apply for Gamba grass as well. All of clues were of importance but one message really spurred us towards Cane toad.A message claimed that Tom Mcreadie brought in Toad busters. The message read that they needed to control the distribution of the villain.Since the Cane toad had already crossed the borders of Kununurra, the Cane toad had to be the Villain.I still had a hunch for the Gamba grass but I ignored it.Another message showed the villain clearly.Danno was standing in long strands of andropogon gayanus. The picture looked plagiarised so we didn't let that image change our way of course.
